STATEMENT

It is an honor to serve as your mayor!

My family and I have lived and worked in Gilroy for over 40 years. I have witnessed Gilroy mature from a small rural community to a diverse economy of retail, tourism, and light industry. Our 20 year General Plan assures smart, planned growth while protecting our local culture.

As mayor, I build consensus on the City Council and in the community. This fostered completion of major City projects including the Sunrise Fire Station, The Gilroy Police Station, and Santa Teresa Boulevard widening, downtown revitalization, the Gilroy Sports Park and three new community parks. Additionally, major sidewalk improvements are underway with a 300% increase to the repair budget.

We must continue to work to maintain our exemplary public safety system, senior citizens services, youth programs, schools, and affordable housing while keeping Gilroy financially strong.

My leadership in our community includes: Gilroy Chamber Of Commerce, Gilroy Exchange Club, Gilroy Visitors Bureau, Gilroy Sister Cities Association, Gilroy Downtown Merchants Association and Gilroy Economic Development Corporation
